Purpose of the Role
Lead the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) function for the Tata Motors Limited (formerly known as TML Commercial Vehicles Limited), driving inorganic growth through strategic investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and partnerships. Support the senior leadership team in identifying, evaluating, and executing transactions aligned with Tata Motors Limited long-term growth strategy.
Job Responsibility
- Identify and evaluate M&A opportunities that align with business strategy and growth priorities of the CVBU.
- Lead end-to-end transaction execution including opportunity assessment, due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and integration planning.
- Build business cases, financial models, and strategic rationale for proposed transactions.
- Drive internal cross-functional coordination with legal, finance, tax, business teams, and external advisors.
- Support post-merger integration planning and tracking of synergy realization.
- Work closely with Strategy, Finance, Business Units, and Group M&A team to align on strategic roadmap.
- Maintain deal pipeline and provide periodic updates to the senior leadership.
- Represent the TML M&A function in internal reviews, and with external stakeholders as required.

Internal – Strategy, Finance, Legal, Secretarial, Business Heads, Group M&A, and Group Finance
External – Investment banks, consultants, legal advisors, due diligence partners, regulatory bodies
Desired Candidate Profile
- Atleast 8years of overall experience, with at least 4-5 years in M&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Transaction Advisory Services.
- Experience in executing large and mid-size M&A transactions in India and/or global markets.
- Preferably from the Automotive, Engineering, Manufacturing or Infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex transactions from start to finish.
Skills & Competencies
- MBA (Finance) or CA; MBA preferred from IIMs or top MBA institutes, additional certifications in M&A, Valuations, or CFA would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High levels of ownership, strategic thinking and execution rigor.
- Understanding of legal, tax and regulatory considerations in M&A.
