ABOUT THE TEAM (CS&D): The Customer Strategy and Design (CS&D) offering, part of the Customer portfolio, helps companies tackle a wide range of top management challenges, including new growth opportunities, customer engagement and service strategies, channel strategies, pricing strategies, and marketing and sales efficiencies. Leveraging extensive industry relationships and insights, we help clients optimize resources and maximize value across the entire customer journey, spanning various channels, segments, and experiences. Through testing and learning, we identify the most valuable path, whether launching a new business, pricing a service, targeting a different customer group, or exploring a new channel. We assist clients in defining their future customer operating model, encompassing roles, processes, structures, and technology platforms, all aimed at generating business value.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Life Sciences (Pharma and Medtech) practice within the Customer and Commercial Strategy (CCS) team, part of the CSD offering. The Life Sciences CCS team focuses on Customer Growth Strategy, Commercial Operating Model Design, Drug/Device Launch Planning and Execution, and Digital Strategy.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for driving strategic initiatives that enhance customer experiences and commercial outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborate with clients in the life sciences industry to understand their business challenges, objectives, and strategic goals.

  2. Utilize data-driven approaches to conduct robust analyses, such as customer segmentation and revenue leakage analysis, to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth and improvement.

  3. Conduct comprehensive market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform customer journey design, identify pain points, and recommend ideal future-state customer engagement strategies.

  4. Develop future-state operating models, change management plans, and implementation roadmaps for effective execution of the recommended strategies.

  5. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies. Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting to track progress and impact.

  6. Lead and manage project teams to deliver high-quality consulting services within specified timelines. Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members and stakeholders.

  7. Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure successful project delivery.

  8. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in customer and commercial strategy within the life sciences sector. Contribute to the development of thought leadership content and participate in industry forums and events.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Deloitte is seeking an experienced practitioner with deep expertise in customer and/or commercial strategy, derived from strong industry or consulting experience.
  • Professional Experience: Strategy consulting experience from consulting firms, Big 4 firms, or experience in Commercial Strategy/Operations for US-based Biopharma or MedTech firms, or their captives in India.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the commercial value chain for predominantly US Life Sciences companies (Pharma and/or Medtech)
  • Data Expertise: Familiarity and experience working with Life Sciences datasets like IQVIA LAAD, Komodo Claims, and other data repositories like Evaluate Pharma and DRG can be valuable
  • Core Consulting Skills: Ability to manage the pace and delivery of projects, including coordination with key stakeholders, reporting key findings, and contributing to the broader business unit through business development, knowledge sharing, and other activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA from a premier school in India or abroad
  • 2 - 3 years relevant work experience for Consultants
