Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Professor Life Sciences (Microbiology / Environmental Science / Zoology)

About the Role:

We are inviting applications from enthusiastic and committed academicians to join our Faculty of Life Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, guiding students in research, and contributing to the academic and professional growth of the department in the specialized areas of Microbiology, Environmental Science, and Zoology.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Masters degree in Life Sciences (Microbiology / Environmental Science / Zoology) with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline (as per UGC norms) is mandatory.
- UGC NET qualification in the relevant subject.
- Prior teaching and/or research experience will be an added advantage.
- Strong subject knowledge, communication, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Skills & Expertise:

- Demonstrated research experience with publications in reputed journals.
- Familiarity with modern laboratory techniques, tools, and technologies.
- Ability to integrate innovative teaching-learning practices.
- Interest in interdisciplinary research and emerging areas in Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the relevant specialization (Microbiology / Environmental Science / Zoology).
- Supervise and mentor students in research projects, dissertations, and laboratory work.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, and publish in peer-reviewed journals of national and international repute.
- Contribute to curriculum design, development, and continuous improvement in line with scientific advancements.
- Engage in departmental, university-level academic, and administrative activities.
- Organize and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to foster a culture of learning and research.
- Establish academic and industry collaborations to promote student internships, placements, and research exposure.
