Overview:

We are seeking a highly creative, industry-experienced, and passionate Faculty member to lead and instruct students in the interdisciplinary fields of Graphic Design, User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design, and Motion Graphics. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in both 2D and 3D design and animation workflows, with a required proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation using Cinema 4D or Blender.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously update course materials to reflect the latest software, industry trends, and professional standards in digital design and emerging media.
  • Assess student performance, providing timely, constructive, and actionable feedback on projects and assignments.
  • Mentor students on portfolio development, career pathways, and industry best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
  • Participate in curriculum review, program development, and accreditation efforts.
  • Engage in department and institutional service, including committee work and student recruitment activities.
  • Maintain an active professional practice or scholarly agenda to ensure relevancy of instruction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Animation, or a closely related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of [Insert Number, e.g., 3-5] years of recent, high-level professional experience in Graphics, UI/UX Design, and Motion Graphics.
  • Technical Expertise (Software):
  • Expert-level proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro/Media Encoder.
  • Advanced knowledge and applied experience in UI/UX tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Mandatory: Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill in 3D production pipelines, including modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation using either Cinema 4D or Blender. A strong portfolio showcasing 3D work is required.
  • Design & Pedagogy Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual communication.
  • Strong knowledge of UX research methods, wireframing, prototyping, and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to teach complex subjects clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Experience with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) or AR/VR design.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript).
