Role Overview

JIVO Energy is seeking a detail-oriented Civil & Electrical AutoCAD Draftsman to produce, update, and manage project drawings and documentation for utility-scale solar, BESS, and associated balance-of-plant works. You'll collaborate closely with design engineers and project managers to deliver construction-ready packages with high accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and quality-check 2D drawings and construction deliverables across civil, electrical, and architectural scopes.
• Maintain revision control, drawing registers, and title blocks; ensure compliance with project standards/codes.
• Convert mark-ups/engineering inputs into GFC, Shop, and As-Built drawings.
• Package and submit drawing sets per issue milestones (IFC/IFU/IFA) with transmittals.

Scope of Drawings & Documents (Detailed)

Electrical (Primary/Secondary/BOP):

• SLD/SSLD: Main SLD, auxiliary SLDs (AC & DC), feeder/loop SLDs, protection metering legends.
• EKD/GA: Equipment key diagrams; general arrangement for switchyard/plant rooms.
• Layouts: Overall electrical layout, cable routing layout, earthing/grounding layout, lightning protection layout, plant illumination layout (lux plots/point calculations), junction box layouts.
• Panels/Boards: ACDB, DCDB, inverter skid, LV/MV panels, UPS, battery racks; panel GA, wiring schematics, terminal plans, BOQ extraction.
• Cabling: Cable schedules, interconnection diagrams, cable tray/trench layout and sections, cable routing drawings, termination charts.
• Earthing/Lightning: Earth grid, pit details, test links, down conductors, strike radius/rolling sphere checks, bonding.
• Protection & Metering: Relay I/O lists, CT/VT schemes, meter wiring, functional schemas.
• Solar/BESS Specific: String layout, block layout, combiner/inverter/JB details, SCB/SMB wiring, MV yard layout, transformer bay details.

Civil/Architectural (Plant & Buildings):

• Site/Building Layouts: Master plan, building floor plans, elevations, sections, room layouts (panel room, battery room, control room).
• Foundations: Transformer, inverter skid, panels, equipment supports, lighting poles, fencing/yard structures, racks; typical drawings and reinforcement details.
• Drainage & Levels: Site grading plan, storm-water drainage, culverts, cross-sections, slopes, sump pits.
• Trenches & Ducts: Cable trench sections, HDD/road crossing details, culvert sleeves, manholes, duct banks.
• Fencing & Access: Perimeter fence layout and details, gates, guardroom, internal roads, pathways.
• Ancillary: O&M building details, septic/soak pits (if applicable), water supply/utility routing.

Documentation:

• Design Basis Report (DBR) and drawing/style standards, legends, symbols, notes.
• BOM/BOQ take-offs from drawings; transmittals; as-built redline incorporation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Civil Engineering (or related).
• 2–5 years hands-on drafting in AutoCAD (2D) for utility/infrastructure/solar/electrical projects.
• Strong command of technical drawing standards, shop drawings, and GFC packages.
• Working knowledge of electrical BOP, grounding/LPS, cable management, and civil foundations & drainage.
• Advantageous: basic exposure to solar PV layouts/BESS rooms, illumination calcs, and substation GA.
• Excellent attention to detail, version control, and adherence to deadlines; strong teamwork and communication.

Tools & Standards (Preferred)

• AutoCAD (2D), AutoCAD Electrical; MS Excel/Word for registers & schedules.
• Dialux/Relux (illumination) – nice to have; ETAP/PowerFactory (for reference to SLD/protection inputs) – nice to have.
• Familiarity with IS/IEC/IEEE relevant to earthing, LPS, cabling, and civil works (beneficial).

Success Metrics (KPIs)

• Drawing accuracy & first-time approval rate from engineering/QA.
• Turnaround time for revisions and RFI closures.
• Compliance with DBR/standards and revision discipline.
• Completeness of issue packs (IFC/As-Built) with correct registers and transmittals.
