Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesAccounting Functions

  • Financial Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure the integrity of transactions.
  • Account Reconciliation:Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and bank statements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure proper cash flow and reconciliation.
  • Month-End/Year-End Close:Support and participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Audit Assistance:Coordinate with internal and external auditors, prepare audit reports, and help resolve any discrepancies.

Management Information Systems (MIS) Functions

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports for management.
  • Dashboard & Visualization Creation:Develop and create dashboards and visualizations to present financial data and insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Performance Monitoring:Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Process Improvement:Suggest and implement improvements to financial systems, data integrity, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency.

Tax and Compliance

  • Tax Filings: Prepare and file various tax returns, such as GST, VAT, and corporate tax.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and government regulations, staying updated on changes.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.

Strategic and Supervisory Duties

  • Financial Planning:Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Management Support:Provide financial data and advice to management to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Staff Mentoring:Guide, train, and supervise junior accounting staff, providing technical advice and assigning duties.
  • System Development:Contribute to the development and implementation of new accounting systems and procedures.
  • Using advanced Excel and financial management software to extract, analyze, and present financial data.
  • Generating financial reports that go beyond traditional accounting statements to include performance metrics and key business insights.
  • Implementing and improving IT systems and processes within the finance department to enhance data management and reporting efficiency.
  • Supporting strategic decision-making by providing both structured accounting information and analytical insights derived from management information systems.
