BigBasket is Hiring Agronomist
Location: [Insert City / Cluster]
Department: Fruits & Vegetables Procurement / Agronomy
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with farmers to implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
- Provide guidance on crop planning, pest & disease management, irrigation, and soil health.
- Conduct field visits and training sessions to improve yield and quality.
- Ensure produce meets BigBasket quality standards at farm and collection centers.
- Record farm data, yield reports, and pesticide usage using company tools.
- Support farmers in adopting organic / sustainable practices and certifications.
- Coordinate with procurement, quality, and logistics teams for smooth operations.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture or related field.
- 0–3 years of experience (Freshers with strong knowledge can apply).
- Strong technical knowledge in crop production and plant protection.
- Willingness to travel extensively for farm visits.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with farmers.
- Knowledge of local language is a plus.
