Key responsibilities include strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory optimization, cost analysis, and ensuring quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing ones.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate favorable contract terms and pricing with vendors to secure cost-effective deals.
  • Order & Delivery Management: Create, process, and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet production schedules.
  • Cost Management: Analyze total cost of ownership and identify opportunities for budget optimization.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and collaborate with other teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory, minimizing stockouts and excess stock.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards for purchased items.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, pricing, and vendor information.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, new products, and regulations to inform procurement strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as finance, operations, and quality to understand their needs and coordinate procurement activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Experience: Proven work experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
  • Negotiation Skills: Essential for securing the best prices and terms with suppliers.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding of supply chain procedures and inventory management.
  • Attention to Detail: Critical for accurate order processing and record-keeping.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with purchasing software can be beneficial.
