Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Head to oversee and manage all financial and accounting activities of our travel company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within the travel and tourism industry, and will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Management

Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Oversee cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.

  1. Regulatory Compliance & Taxation

Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.

Coordinate with auditors for internal and statutory audits.

Liaise with regulatory authorities, tax consultants, and financial institutions as needed.

  1. Travel Industry-Specific Accounting

Manage accounting for travel bookings, vendor payments (airlines, hotels, transport), and commissions.

Oversee reconciliation of GDS (Global Distribution Systems) and online booking platforms.

Ensure proper revenue recognition from travel products (flights, tours, packages, etc.).

  1. Team Leadership

Lead and supervise the accounts team.

Develop team capabilities through mentoring, training, and goal setting.

Monitor performance and ensure high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

  1. Strategic Support

Provide financial insights and support business decisions with data-driven analysis.

Assist management in long-term financial planning and investment decisions.

Work closely with sales and operations teams to align financial strategies with business goals.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA, CMA preferred).

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a travel/tourism or service-based company.

In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and taxation.

Experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Familiarity with travel management platforms (GDS, OTA, etc.) is a plus.
