Role & responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup - Install and align tools and fixtures- Load materials onto the machine.
  • Program Loading - Load G-code or M-code programs into the machine.
  • Operation - Run the machine - Monitor during operation for accuracy and safety.
  • Tool Changes - Replace worn tools- Adjust tool offsets.
  • Quality Control - Use precision instruments (Vernier callipers, micrometres, dial gauge etc.)- Check part dimensions.
  • Maintenance - Basic maintenance and cleaning- Report mechanical issues.
  • Documentation - Production logs, Machine check list and Inspection reports.
  • Safety Compliance - Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

Skills Required:

  • Understanding of vmc programming (G-code/M-code)
  • Ability to read engineering 2D drawings
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments
  • Basic troubleshooting of machine and program errors
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Understanding of GD&T Symbols
  • Basic Manual Programming

Machines Used & Tools:

  • VMC (Vertical Machining Centre)
  • VMC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens,)
  • Cutting tools, Inserts ,Drills, End mills ,Bullnose, Ball nose
  • Measuring tools: Vernier calliper, micrometre, Dial gauge, height gauge , Boring bar
