The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

The group has been steadily growing and corporatizing several functions. In this context, we would be interested in recruiting a suitable candidate for CDT-Theatre

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teach theatre arts to students of various age groups and skill levels.

  2. Direct school productions, including plays, musicals, and other performances.

  3. Guide students in developing their acting, voice, and movement skills.

  4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

  5. Assess student progress, provide feedback, and evaluate performances.

  6. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate theatre arts with other subjects.

  7. Organize and manage school theatre events, productions, and performances.

  8. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  1. Teaching experience, preferably in a school setting.

  2. Background in theatre arts, including acting, directing, and playwriting.

  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. Ability to work with students of varying ages and skill levels.

  5. Creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for theatre arts.
