Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Modeler
with expertise in structural steel and architectural/miscellaneous detailing. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of
AISC, AWS, OSHA, and NISD
standards, along with proven hands-on experience in
SDS/2, Tekla, and AutoCAD
. This role involves preparing accurate 3D models, connection detailing, member placement, and delivering shop/erection drawings with precision and efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Detailers, Checkers, and Project Managers to prepare and submit 3D models for structural and architectural projects.
  • Work on detailing platforms such as
    SDS/2, Tekla, and AutoCAD
    .
  • Interpret and comply with design drawings, industry standards, and client protocols (AISC, AWS, OSHA, NISD).
  • Prepare
    Bill of Materials, Title Blocks, Templates, and Reports
    as per client requirements.
  • Ensure accurate
    member placement
    and suggest connections where drawings lack details, subject to engineer/architect approval.
  • Generate
    GA drawings, Shop Drawings, and Erection Drawings
    along with related reports.
  • Create and manage RFIs; update models based on responses received.
  • Maintain and organize engineering documentation and filing systems.
  • Deliver projects with accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company/client standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Diploma in
    Civil or Mechanical Engineering
    (or equivalent work experience in SDS/2 or Tekla).
  • 5–10 years of experience
    in steel detailing with SDS/2 or Tekla.
  • Strong understanding of
    AISC codes, OSHA, AWS, welding specifications
    , and other industry standards.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret
    structural/architectural design drawings, blueprints, and specifications
    .
  • Knowledge of
    steel manufacturing, shop fabrication, and erection processes
    .
  • Solid grasp of basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
    and
    Google Workspace
    .
