Role & responsibilities

An Equity Dealer is responsible for executing buy and sell orders in the equity markets on behalf of the firm's clients or for the firm's proprietary trading activities. The role involves continuous monitoring of market conditions, conducting market research, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Trade Execution: Execute equity trades accurately and efficiently for institutional and retail clients, ensuring optimal execution and adherence to client instructions.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct technical and fundamental analysis to support trading decisions and provide insights to clients and internal teams.
  • Client Management: Maintain and develop relationships with clients, providing them with market updates, trade ideas, and execution services.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and manage trading risks, ensuring that all trades comply with the firm's risk management policies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to regulatory requirements and the firm's internal policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly trading reports for senior management and clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with research analysts, portfolio managers, and other traders to develop and implement trading strategies.
  • Market Research: Stay updated with market news, trends, and economic events that impact equity markets.
  • Order Management: Utilize trading platforms and software to manage orders, track executions, and monitor market conditions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance trading skills and market knowledge.
  • 1-5 years of experience in equity dealing or related field (NISM 8 certification mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of equity trading, risk management, stress management, and trading concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
