Job Summary:

The Marine Sales Engineer combines technical expertise with sales skills to provide solutions and sell products or services to clients. The role involves understanding customer requirements, recommending appropriate solutions, preparing technical proposals, and supporting the sales process from lead generation to closing. The Sales Engineer acts as the bridge between the client's technical needs and the company's product capabilities, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:1. Technical Sales and Solution Design

  • Understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions that meet their needs.
  • Prepare and present product demonstrations, proposals, and quotations.
  • Assist clients in selecting products, systems, or services suitable for their applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering or technical teams to develop customized solutions.

2. Business Development

  • Identify new sales opportunities and potential clients within the assigned territory or industry.
  • Generate leads, follow up on inquiries, and convert prospects into customers.
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and technical seminars to promote products.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to clients.
  • Handle customer inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide solutions.
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate requirements to internal teams.

4. Reporting and Coordination

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and proposals in CRM systems.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with the sales team, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless execution of projects.

5. Continuous Learning and Product Knowledge

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and technological advancements.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and sales skills to improve customer engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or relevant field) or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in technical sales, sales engineering, or related roles (depending on seniority).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of products, systems, or solutions being sold.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales software.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-focused with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Number of new clients acquired and leads converted.
  • Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of proposals, quotations, and technical solutions.
