One of the largest educational groups, which run many educational establishments in Bangalore, providing world class infrastructure to students within and outside the country. This particular requirement is for the department of Engineering, Computer Science and School of Design
Role & responsibilities
The Pro Vice Chancellor for Computer Science and Engineering is a key leadership role within the academic administration, responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the academic programs and research activities in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. This position requires a dynamic and visionary individual with a strong background in academia, leadership skills, and a passion for advancing education and research in computer science and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
  • Provide visionary leadership for the Computer Science and Engineering department, setting strategic goals and objectives.
  • Foster an environment of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Curriculum Development:
  • Oversee the development and review of curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in computer science and engineering.
  • Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry trends, technological advancements, and meets accreditation standards.

Faculty Management:
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members, fostering a culture of collaboration, research, and teaching excellence.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance teaching and research capabilities.

Research and Innovation: Promote and support research activities within the department, encouraging faculty and students to engage in cutting-edge research projects.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with industry partners and research institutions.

Student Engagement:
  • Oversee student recruitment and admission processes, ensuring a diverse and talented student body.
  • Enhance the student experience through the development of co-curricular activities, internships, and industry partnerships.

Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of education and research.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic programs, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

Budget and Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage the department's budget, allocating resources effectively to support academic and research initiatives.
  • Seek external funding opportunities and grants to enhance departmental resources.

Collaboration and Networking:
  • Foster collaborations with other academic departments, institutions, and industry partners to enhance research and educational opportunities.
  • Represent the department in university-wide committees and initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile
  • 25+ Years of experience
  • Currently working as a Pro-Vice Chancellor / Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor or Dean in a reputed University
  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Should have experience in education services in Engineering studies, especially in Computer Science / Information Science / Information Technologies
  • Extensive academic leadership experience, preferably in a university setting.
  • Strong research background with a record of scholarly achievements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of faculty and staff.
