Job Description

Role:

This is a full-time role for a Medical Record Summarization Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for reviewing medical records, summarizing and entering medical information into the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of health information documentation, and maintaining confidentiality. This is an on-site role located in Chennai.

Responsibilities :

. Analyze and Review Medical Records

  • Examine comprehensive medical records from various healthcare providers to extract relevant clinical information.

Summarize Medical Information

  • Create accurate, concise, and well-structured summaries that highlight key medical events, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and outcomes.

Develop Medical Chronologies

  • Organize medical data in chronological order to create timelines that assist in understanding the sequence of care.

Identify and Highlight Critical Information

  • Pinpoint essential details such as pre-existing conditions, treatment gaps, surgical history, and diagnostic findings.

Ensure Accuracy and Consistency

  • Cross-reference data within medical records to ensure consistency and completeness of the summaries.

Maintain Confidentiality and Compliance

  • Handle all patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA and other applicable data privacy and confidentiality regulations.

Collaborate with Internal Teams

  • Work closely with legal, clinical, or insurance teams to ensure summaries meet case-specific requirements.

Utilize Documentation Tools

  • Work with electronic health records (EHRs), document management systems, and medical summarization tools to streamline workflow.

Quality Assurance and Revisions

  • Review and revise summaries based on feedback to maintain high-quality standards.

Stay Current with Medical Terminology

  • Keep up to date with medical terminology, treatment protocols, and healthcare documentation practices to ensure relevance and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Medical Terminology and Medicine
  • Health Information Management skills
  • Experience in handling Medical Records
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
