Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Reporting: Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare financial forecasts, projections, and annual budgets, and monitor variances against budgets to initiate corrective actions.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Financial Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain financial accounting systems and internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to foster a skilled and motivated team.
  • Strategic Contributions: Provide recommendations for financial and operational improvements and advise senior management on fiscal policies to support strategic planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Often requires a Chartered Accountant (CA) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with specific sector experience (e.g., real estate) sometimes required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, financial analysis, and tax management. Experience with financial software like SAP is often a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, managerial, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. Strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration are also important for this role.
