Key roles and responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends and assess supplier capabilities to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; negotiate contracts and pricing.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to understand product specifications and requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support in the selection of products and services.
  • Monitor budgets and analyze costs to identify savings opportunities.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for purchases to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and industry standards.
  • Update database / reports on purchasing activities, vendor performance, and market trends for management.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  • Placement of orders & preparation of internal and external invoice.

Preferred Profile

  • B.Tech / Diploma engineer
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in Shipbuilding or Shipyard or engineering environment
