Data Center Operations Engineer

Role & responsibilities

  • Perform on-site and/or remote installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:

  • VMware environments

  • SUSE Linux, Ubuntu, and Unix/Linux/Windows servers
  • Clustered Linux systems (SUSE Linux ,Clustering)
  • Dell/HP server hardware and storage

  • Desktops and end-user devices (Windows 10/11,Mac OS, Ubuntu)

  • Manage and perform SUSE/ Cent OS patching and server maintenance tasks.

  • Perform Active Directory user and group management.
  • Handle daily operational tasks within the data center including BIOS/firmware upgrades, vendor coordination, and hardware issue resolution.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated IT incidents from the service desk.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain backup operations and restore processes.
  • Support asset tracking, inventory management, and operational documentation.

Qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) from a reputed institution.

Preferences

Hands-on experience with:

  • Linux (SUSE, Ubuntu), Unix, Windows Server
  • VMware ESXi and vSphere
  • Wintel and Storage Environment.

Certifications Preferred :

  • MCP, MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, Network+, or equivalent
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • Familiarity with ticketing and ITSM systems.
  • Experience in asset and inventory management.
