Core Purpose Of The Role

• Create well-designed and tested code using best practices for web development, including for responsive design and mobile display
• Create websites and interfaces using standard HTML/CSS practices, and incorporate data from back-end databases and services
• Create and maintain workflows for teams, providing visibility and ensuring balance
• Develop or validate testing schedules that address all browsers and devices, ensuring web content can be accessed on any computer
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies

Role Accountabilities
Website Strategy & Planning

• Develop and implement the website strategy aligned with Syngene International's marketing and business objectives.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the website supports campaigns, lead generation, and brand positioning.

Website Maintenance & Updates

• Proven experience as a Drupal Developer including a portfolio of Drupal-based projects.
• Proficiency in PHP and strong knowledge of Drupal's architecture and APIs.
• Knowledge of Drupal security best practices and website performance optimization.
• Manage and customize website layouts, templates, and visual components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Implement clean, responsive designs based on wireframes and mock-ups provided by the design team/agency.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and alignment with brand standards.
• Maintain site health, manage updates to themes and plugins, and monitor performance issues.
• Ensure the website is always up to date with the latest information.
• Manage publishing schedules and coordinate with content creators and designers.

User Experience (UX) & Design Coordination

• Work with design team to enhance website usability and aesthetics.
• Monitor user feedback and analytics to improve navigation, layout, and content engagement.
• Ensure website is responsive and optimized across devices and browsers.

Technical Management & Optimization

• Liaise with IT and web development teams for website functionality, security, and technical improvements.
• Monitor website performance, page load times, uptime, and troubleshoot any issues.
• Implement SEO best practices to increase organic traffic and search rankings.
• Manage integrations with CRM, marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms.

Content Management

• Manage the CMS (Content Management System) effectively to update and maintain the website.
• Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Coordinate with marketing, PR, and other departments for content inputs.

Analytics & Reporting

• Track and analyze website traffic, user behavior, and conversion metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
• Prepare regular reports for the marketing team and senior management.
• Use data insights to recommend improvements and support marketing strategies.

Compliance & Security

• Ensure the website complies with relevant legal, regulatory, and accessibility standards (e.g., GDPR, ADA).
• Monitor website security and coordinate with IT on backups, patches, and vulnerability management.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with external vendors such as web hosting providers, SEO consultants, and design agencies.
• Act as a liaison between marketing, IT, and external partners.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Stay updated on digital marketing and website trends, technologies, and tools.
• Recommend and implement innovative website features and tools to enhance marketing effectiveness.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in web developer.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• Proficiency with content management systems, including WordPress and Drupal
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies and responsive design.

Skills And Capabilities

• Expertise in MS Office tools – advanced MS Excel; MS Power point; MS Access; Analytic Tools
• Familiarity with content adaptation tools and creative testing methodologies.
• Proven success in project coordination
• Experience in implementing web development workflows and operations using a variety of tools, including GitHub
• Agency background will be added advantage.
