Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Fabrication & Erection Manager for heavy structural fabrication and erection activities in large-scale EPC infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will oversee planning, execution, and quality control of fabrication works including ROB structures, girders, piers, and steel assemblies, ensuring alignment with project timelines and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication Management

  • Supervise fabrication of heavy steel structures including girders, trusses, pier caps, and bridge components.
  • Review fabrication drawings, BOQs, and welding procedures in coordination with design and QA/QC teams.
  • Plan and allocate resources for workshop activities including manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
  • Ensure adherence to fabrication codes (IS, AWS, BS) and client specifications.

Erection Oversight

  • Coordinate erection of fabricated components at site including lifting plans, rigging, and alignment.
  • Liaise with site execution teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of fabricated elements.
  • Monitor safety compliance during erection, including crane operations and working at height protocols.

Quality & Compliance

  • Implement inspection and testing protocols (WPS, PQR, NDT, dimensional checks).
  • Maintain documentation for fabrication traceability, welding logs, and material certificates.
  • Interface with third-party inspectors and client representatives for approvals and audits.

Workshop Operations

  • Manage workshop layout, equipment maintenance, and workflow optimization.
  • Lead a team of welders, fitters, supervisors, and foremen with clear KPIs and productivity targets.
  • Ensure timely dispatch of fabricated items to site with proper packaging and logistics coordination.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of experience in heavy fabrication and erection in EPC infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in reading fabrication drawings and using CAD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques (SMAW, MIG, TIG) and fabrication standards.
  • Familiarity with NHAI/IRCON/DMRC specifications and project protocols.
  • Leadership skills with ability to manage cross-functional teams and subcontractors.

Preferred Experience

  • ROB, flyover, metro viaduct, or steel bridge projects.
