Key Responsibilities:

Primary – Oracle DBA:Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle 12c/19c/21c environments in production and non-production.Set up and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle RAC and Data Guard.Conduct in-depth performance tuning, SQL optimization, and database health checks.Manage backup/recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, and custom scripts.Automate administrative tasks and operational procedures using Shell scripting, PL/SQL, or Python.Implement and enforce security standards and policies across environments.Plan and execute patching and version upgrades with minimal downtime.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs or support staff.

Secondary – DB2 DBA:Perform installation, maintenance, and patching of DB2 databases (LUW or z/OS).Support performance tuning, database monitoring, and capacity planning in DB2 environments.Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot DB2-related issues.Assist in backup/restore operations, and database scripting.

Required Skills & Experience:8–10 years of total experience in database administration.Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle DBA in production environments.Minimum 2+ years of hands-on DB2 DBA experience (LUW ).Deep knowledge of Oracle internals, ASM, RMAN, AWR/ASH reports, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and database cloning.Strong command over scripting (Shell, Python, or PL/SQL) for automation.Working knowledge of DB2 command-line tools, performance tuning, and monitoring utilities.Proven ability to support large-scale enterprise database environments.Good understanding of ITIL processes and change management.

Preferred Qualifications:Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – a strong plus.IBM DB2 Certification – preferred.Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure Database for Oracle/DB2).Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or JIRA.

Soft Skills:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Excellent verbal and written communication.Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
