Position Summary
Controls Team Leader will lead a team that develops controls software and supporting tools for key products ensuring that quality and usability are designed into the product at the earliest possible opportunity and remains a primary focus throughout the product lifecycle.

As part of the controls software development organization, you will be responsible for delivering this software for our global customers, in partnership with our product management, application engineering and customer service groups.

You must have a passion for excellence, the drive to complete tasks within the required time frame, and the leadership and technical skill to build a high performing development team.

Key Responsibility

  • Lead and develop team members under direct reporting.
  • Interview and selection of new personnel.
  • To provide peer coaching to new members of the team on technical and organizational matters.
  • Act as Product Owner / Product Owner Agent for the area of controls for the team.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including hands-on design, implementation, documentation and validation.
  • As part of the development team actively engage design reviews and demonstrations to stake holders.
  • Ensure that quality is designed into the product from the very start of development.
  • In conjunction with test engineer devise strong unit/ integrated test cases.
  • Develop emulation components to allow testing of development and project software.
  • Ensure good coordination and collaboration with other development teams that are working on the same technology platform and/or product stream.
  • Bachelor Degree of Engineering in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics/E&TC
  • Enthusiasm for software development and innovation.
  • Experience in leading a team of controls or software engineers
  • A minimum of 3 years PLC programming experience
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in Siemens TIA coding is required.
  • Experience designing and developing software using a higher level language such as C, C++, Visual Basic or Java.
  • Experience in an agile development environment is beneficial.
  • Experience in HMI/SCADA programming is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Demo3D is beneficial.
