Role description
1. Storage & SAN Management
  • Design, configure, deploy, and maintain Hitachi SAN solutions.
  • Monitor storage performance, utilization, and perform capacity planning.
  • Implement and manage storage zoning, LUN provisioning, and volume management.
  • Work with NetApp storage arrays (understanding required).
  • Manage Veritas data backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Strong expertise with Brocade SAN switches.
  • Configure ISL (Inter-Switch Link) on Brocade SAN environments.
  • Deep knowledge of SAN storage, iSCSI, Fibre Channel (FC), SMB protocols, and multipath configurations.
2. Infrastructure Support
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of SAN/NAS systems.
  • Troubleshoot storage-related issues including connectivity, performance, and data consistency.
  • Provide L3 technical support for complex storage and backup issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support database, virtualization, and server platforms.
  • Develop and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity plans for storage systems.
3. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain detailed documentation of storage infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Prepare reports on storage utilization, performance metrics, and capacity trends.
  • Provide technical recommendations for upgrades, enhancements, and system improvements.
4. Backup Management
  • Manage and monitor Veritas backup and recovery operations.
  • Ensure adherence to backup policies, retention, and restore testing.

Relevant Experience

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Storage, SAN, and Backup administration.

Mandatory Skills

  • Expertise in Hitachi SAN design, deployment, and management.
  • Storage performance monitoring and capacity management.
  • Experience with zoning, LUN provisioning, and volume management.
  • Working knowledge of NetApp arrays.
  • Strong experience with Veritas backup and recovery solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Brocade SAN switches and ISL configuration.
  • Strong understanding of SAN storage, iSCSI, FC, SMB, and multipath I/O configurations.
