Job Summary:

The Storage Resident Engineer serves as the onsite technical expert responsible for the deployment, administration, optimization, and ongoing support of Storage Solutions. This role ensures the customer's Storage environment is stable, high-performing, and aligned with best practices. The engineer also acts as a technical bridge between the customer and Storage support teams to ensure smooth operations and superior service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Storage Administration & Operations

  • Manage, monitor, and optimize Storage arrays (FlashArray, FlashBlade, etc.).
  • Perform routine health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related incidents and service requests.
  • Maintain documentation of storage configurations, topology, and change logs.

2. Implementation & Deployment

  • Support deployment, configuration, and upgrades of Storage systems.
  • Assist in migrations, replications, and storage provisioning tasks.
  • Ensure all activities follow customer change management (ITIL) processes.

3. Customer Engagement & Support

  • Act as the primary onsite technical contact for the customer.
  • Provide proactive recommendations to enhance performance and stability.
  • Coordinate with Storage TAC and engineering teams for complex issues.
  • Deliver periodic reports on storage performance, incidents, capacity, and risks.

4. Best Practices & Optimization

  • Review and optimize storage policies, data protection, and replication setups.
  • Ensure systems comply with security, governance, and operational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and propose technical enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills

  • 3–7 years of experience in enterprise storage administration or related roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Storage platforms (FlashArray, FlashBlade).
  • Strong understanding of SAN/NAS concepts, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Windows Server, Linux, and backup technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and capacity/performance analysis.
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and customer-facing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a customer environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and service-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Storage certifications (e.g.,
    PCA / PCD
    ) is a strong plus.
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers in telecom, banking, or large-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud storage integrations is an advantage.
