Role & responsibilities

PositionOverview We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle. This role requires strong coordination skills, risk management, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful, high-quality, and timely software releases. Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with stakeholders: Partner with Product Management, Development, Solution Architecture, and other stakeholders to understand release scope and requirements.
• Create release plan: Define schedules, milestones, and dependencies for releases in collaboration with Support, Implementation, etc..
• Coordinate readiness meetings: Schedule and facilitate meetings with Development, QA, DevOps, Installation, Implementation, and Support teams to confirm release readiness.
• Risk management: Identify potential risks and issues, and create effective mitigation strategies.
• Testing coordination: Work closely with QA teams to ensure regression, performance, and UAT testing are completed successfully
• Maintain documentation: Prepare and maintain release notes, run sheets, and known issue logs for each release/patch.
• Change management: Ensure all changes (including patches and releases) are documented, reviewed, and tracked according to defined processes.
• Training support: Collaborate with the Training team to ensure user guides, quick reference guides, and supporting materials are updated and distributed.
• End-user communication: Inform Implementation and Support teams of upcoming releases, downtime windows, and potential impacts.
• Continuous improvement: Incorporate lessons learned and industry best practices into the release process for ongoing efficiency improvements.
• Metrics tracking: Define and track KPIs (such as release frequency, defect rates, and deployment success) to measure release effectiveness.
• Rollback planning: Develop and validate rollback strategies and ensure readiness to execute them in case of critical issues.
• Hypercare & support: Design and oversee hypercare and production support plans for major releases to ensure smooth transition and stability post-deployment RequiredSkills:
• 710 years of experience in Release Management or related roles.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
• Proven experience coordinating across cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in risk management and change management processes.
• Hands-on experience with release management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities. Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• ITIL certification or equivalent is a plus.
