Job Overview:

The Librarian will be responsible for managing the school library and supporting students and teachers in accessing a wide range of learning resources. The ideal candidate should have experience in an international or IGCSE school environment and be passionate about fostering a love for reading and research among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, maintain, and manage all library resources—books, journals, digital media, and reference materials.

  • Assist students and teachers in locating and using library resources effectively.

  • Promote reading habits and information literacy through library programs, book fairs, and reading challenges.

  • Develop and maintain a cataloguing and classification system for easy access to resources.

  • Support curriculum delivery by providing relevant and age-appropriate materials for different subjects.

  • Manage digital library systems and integrate online learning platforms where applicable.

  • Conduct orientation sessions for students on how to use library resources responsibly.

  • Maintain an inviting, orderly, and learner-friendly library environment.

  • Monitor library budgets, issue and return processes, and stock audits.

  • Collaborate with teachers to support project-based learning and research assignments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science / Information Science or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a school librarian, preferably in an IGCSE / International curriculum school.

  • Familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and research-based learning.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in library management software and digital resources.

  • Enthusiasm for reading and student engagemen
