Role Objective:

To ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the organization while managing and optimizing all logistics operations inbound, outbound, and warehouse — to ensure smooth material flow, minimal downtime, and maximum cost efficiency.

A. Procurement & Material Management

  1. Plan and execute procurement of raw materials (core inputs, consumables, and packing materials) based on production schedules, demand forecasts, and inventory norms.
  2. Develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure consistent material availability, quality compliance, and cost competitiveness in line with company objectives.
  3. Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials and logistics partners for finished goods dispatch, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and statutory standards.
  4. Invite and evaluate quotations through techno-commercial analysis, ensuring transparency, fairness, and alignment with budgeted targets.
  5. Negotiate contracts and purchase terms — including price, delivery schedule, payment terms, and freight responsibility — to optimize cost and working capital.
  6. Ensure timely release of purchase orders, advance payments (if applicable), and follow-up for on-time delivery of materials to avoid production disruptions.
  7. Monitor market trends and price fluctuations in key raw materials and propose alternate sources or substitutes to mitigate risks and achieve savings.
  8. Maintain digital records and MIS reports for purchase orders, vendor performance, lead times, and landed cost analysis using ERP or SAP systems.
  9. Drive continual process improvement and digitalization across procurement, logistics, and dispatch operations for higher transparency and operational efficiency.

B. Dispatch & Logistics Coordination

  1. Plan and oversee dispatch of finished goods as per sales orders, ensuring timely deliveries, optimized loads, and route efficiency.
  2. Liaise with transporters, C&F agents, and warehouse teams to schedule dispatches and track shipments till delivery at customer sites.
  3. Ensure compliance with all logistics documentation (E-way bills, invoices, delivery challans, road permits, and insurance coverage).
  4. Monitor dispatch turnaround time, freight cost, and vehicle utilization to drive cost efficiency and service reliability.
  5. Address transit loss/damage claims promptly and coordinate with insurance and finance for recovery.
  6. Maintain close coordination with Sales, Production, and Accounts teams to ensure end-to-end supply chain alignment and customer satisfaction.
