The team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our BT or WLAN protocol design team. The team will work closely with the upper stack and systems. The Team plays a pivotal role in developing complex protocol features for WLAN and BT. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across the engineering disciplines from high level software to low-level hardware. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Engineering.

Job Duties

  • Development of software for Bluetooth lower layer stack and or WLAN uCode
  • Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customers
  • Communication of bugs/issues to leads
  • Support software and hardware debug of testing issues
  • Working with colleagues to optimize solutions
  • Working with other team members on testing and maintenance work

Competencies

  • Familiar with Wi-Fi or/and BT specification link layer and profiles
  • Basic understanding of hardware and some familiarity with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth sniffer tools, analysis of logs, usage of embedded debuggers
  • Debugging and analytical abilities
  • Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
  • Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
  • Able to solve routine problems through practical use of technology
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work within a diverse team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in a relevant engineering role
  • Proficient in C programming
  • Experience developing for Bluetooth (Specification 5.3) and/or WLAN (IEEE specification link layer and profiles
  • Experience with system test, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of wireless product
  • Work experience with ASIC emulators is a plus and Python scripting is a bonus
  • No travel required
