*Job Area:* Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software EngineeringGeneral Summary:Job DescriptionQualcomm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join our WLAN Android Software team. The successful candidate will be re sponsible for the design, development, integration, and optimization of WLAN software for Android platforms, with a particular focus on Java-based Android Wi-Fi frameworks and system services. This role re quires deep expertise in Android internals, WLAN protocols, and hands-on experience with both user space and kernel-level development.Key Re sponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain WLAN software components for Android platforms, with emphasis on Java-based Android Wi-Fi frameworks and system services.Integrate and optimize Qualcomm WLAN drivers and protocol stacks with Android OS, ensuring robust performance and stability.Develop and enhance features in the Android Wi-Fi framework, including connectivity management, scanning, roaming, and power optimization.Debug and re solve complex issues across Android user space, Java framework, and kernel, including connectivity, throughput, and stability problems.Collaborate with Android platform teams to ensure seamless integration of WLAN features and compliance with Android re leases.Optimize WLAN performance for Android devices, addressing power consumption, latency, and re liability.Interface with global teams to support product launches and re solve field issues.Document designs, implementation details, and troubleshooting guides.Communicate effectively via emails and meetings, providing clear technical context and actionable insights.Take ownership of assigned tasks and drive them to closure with minimal supervision.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Android platform development.Strong proficiency in Java programming, with experience in Android Wi-Fi framework and system services.Solid understanding of WLAN protocols and networking fundamentals.Experience with Android internals, including HAL, AOSP, and Android framework.Proficiency in C, C++, and Java programming for Android and Linux environments.Experience with Linux kernel and user space development.Proven debugging skills for Android and WLAN- re lated issues, including Java framework and native layers.Excellent communication skillswritten and verbal.Self-driven, motivated, and able to work independently.Experience with Qualcomm WLAN chipsets and software stacks.Exposure to Wi-Fi protocol stack integration (mac80211/cfg80211 or equivalent).Hands-on experience with Android Wi-Fi framework development, including connectivity, scanning, and roaming features.Familiarity with Android CTS, VTS, and GTS testing.Experience with performance optimization and power management on Android devices.Prior experience in automotive or embedded Android platforms.
