Job Description – Senior Accountant

Position Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Accounts & Finance

Reporting To: Head Of Accounts / Senior Accountant

Location: CAIT Edusys Private Limited Head Office

Employment Type: Full-time

Role PurposeThe Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, reviewing the work of junior accountants, and supporting management with accurate financial reporting. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, analytical ability, and leadership skills to strengthen the company's financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities· Review and finalize books of accounts (Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet).

· Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.

· Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance.

· Oversee GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance, including returns and reconciliations.

· Ensure adherence to statutory deadlines and assist with audits.

· Handle statutory, tax, and internal audit requirements.

· Support preparation and monitoring of budgets.

· Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective measures.

· Assist management in decision-making through financial insights.

· Implement and monitor accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures.

· Recommend automation/digital tools to improve efficiency.

· Supervise and guide junior accountants in day-to-day accounting tasks.

· Review ledger postings, reconciliations, and vouchers prepared by the team.

· Act as a bridge between management and accounting staff.

Required Skills &

Competencies· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.

· Proficiency in accounting software (Tally/ERP, MS Excel, GST software).

· Good understanding of Indian taxation laws (GST, TDS, Income Tax).

· Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.

· Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability.

· Strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications &

Experience· Education: B.Com/M.Com, CA-Inter/CA finalist, or MBA (Finance).

· Experience: 4–7 years of relevant experience in accounting & finance.
