Roles and Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy and Development

• Develop Aparnas long-term quality strategy to meet dynamic and changing business objectives and operational needs.
• Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop continuous improvement opportunities from a quality perspective.
• Establish a culture of quality across departments through focused initiatives and training activities.

2. Quality Assurance

• Develop Field quality plan which comprises of setting all quality standards that are required to be met for project execution including regulatory standards as per Indian quality norms
• Lead development of Work Policies and Methodologies for various construction activities.
• Ensure formats and checklists are updated on a regular basis.
• Monitor the activities of PMC whether all the construction activities of sites have been checked as per the work policies & methodologies
• Identification of areas of preventing action considering essence of project to eliminate the factors that could cause nonconformity.
• Ensure taking appropriate corrective action against Non-Conformation Products on time by the concerned.
• Monitor the effective implementation of Quality App
• Ensure that the execution team/external vendors/contractors adhere to all quality procedures and oversee coordination with various teams to perform quality audits on processes
• Discuss quality issues of sites with the EVP (Projects) for taking necessary preventive action
• Ensure compliance with all standards, codes and industry practices as applicable to the QA&QC function at projects
• Regular R&D of various construction materials like Paints, Gypsum, Adhesives, Grouts, SCC, SDC, Admixtures, waterproofing materials etc.
• Overall responsibility for procedures and compliance that ensure basic safety norms at sites are met.
• Overall responsibility for timely audits at vendor sites (for new vendors).
• Oversee quality reports shared with execution team/contractors.
• Lead the monthly Quality Review Meetings (QRMs) across all sites to ensure quality as per standards. Share report with project team for necessary preventive/corrective actions and review in the next QRM.

3. Quality Control

• Lead and ensure alignment and compliance with project specifications and quality standards at each individual site.
• Lead development of Quality assurance standards for all incoming materials.
• Overall responsibility for ensuring quality of all incoming materials at the site.
• Oversee weekly reports shared with Purchase team on vendor quality.
• Develop guidelines & procedures to maintain in-house testing facility at site / third party lab and ensure fitness of equipments for accuracy & purpose
• Establishment of field laboratories at all the sites by determining the lab requirements based on the project specifications.
• Ensure availability of lab equipment, instruments etc. and ensuring timely calibration of the same.
• Allocation and transfer of equipment timely to various sites as per the requirement by maintaining equipment databank
• Lead development of testing methods for all incoming materials (for eg. Compression tests).
• Oversee development of QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered and other QA/QC documents.
• Resolve project specific issues relating to all Product Quality Control activities in liaison with project heads and other functionaries concerned
• Overall responsibility for monitoring the in-house waterproofing for substructures like Lift Pits, UG Sumps, STPs, WTP's, Podiums, Cellars, Retaining Walls for both cost saving opportunities and for ensuring quality control.

4. Customer Relationship

• Monitor effective corrective action for Customer complaints and ensure continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality strategy

5. People

• Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, adds value and reduces cost
• Identify, design and impart QMS Training Program & Induction for Staff to create awareness on Project Quality requirements.

6. Processes

• Responsible for bringing in industry best practices and monitoring & measuring the improvements

Required Candidate profile

• M. Tech/B. Tech/ BE (Civil) with years of experience in QA in construction of High – Rise residential buildings and High – End villas in Real Estate Industry

Knowledge/ Technical Skills

• Well versed with quality standards (Indian standard codes / Indian quality standards)
• Experience in Quality audit and control
• Relevant ISO certifications (Preferred)
• Project Management skills
