  • SMT Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, and other related machinery.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues that impact equipment performance. Provide technical support to operators and production staff.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all SMT equipment, ensuring that machines are functioning at optimal capacity and minimizing unscheduled downtime.
  • Equipment Calibration & Optimization: Calibrate, adjust, and fine-tune equipment settings to ensure high-quality production and adherence to process specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze equipment performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Work closely with other departments to optimize production processes and reduce downtime.
  • Spare Parts Management: Manage the inventory of spare parts, ensuring that necessary components are available for repairs and maintenance without unnecessary delays.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, equipment repairs, parts replacements, and performance metrics. Generate regular reports on machine performance and maintenance activities for management review.
  • Training & Support: Provide training to production operators and technicians on proper equipment handling, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures. Support teams in achieving production goals while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaboration with Vendors: Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing, calibration, upgrades, and sourcing of parts. Ensure that third-party maintenance activities meet company standards and minimize production disruptions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a safe working environment and report safety concerns to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience as an SMT Maintenance Engineer or in a similar role within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of SMT production equipment (e.g., pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, SPI, AOI systems).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience in performing preventive maintenance on SMT equipment and minimizing downtime.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and ISO 9001.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and machine drawings.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, equipment calibration, and maintenance software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
