Qualification:Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or Technology from recognized UniversityPost Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property rights from recognized University. LLB degree will be an added advantage. Experience: Candidate should be a registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent Office with minimum 3 years in handling patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of IP.Experience in IP management, searching, analyzing, drafting, filing, prosecution, negotiating and portfolio management.

Job Description:To be nodal (single window) agency for handling all matters of Intellectual Properties of Institutions and/or created / invented by employees. This will also include importantly the matters relating to grant of patents and their subsequent utilization. To process all proposals relating to obtaining approvals/grant, sanction of Intellectual Properties like Trademarks, patents etc.

To deal with the Regulators with the help of the proposing institutions, engaging external support, hiring agencies (wherever necessary), payment of regulatory charges (after obtaining necessary approvals) etc. To take systematic follow up actions for making use/commercializing the patents which may include following steps. Transfer all existing patents to SVKM/NMIMS as Patent holder, by following the process laid down in IPA at a small cost.

The individual(s) will continue to remain as 'Inventor'. Get details of the invention from the Inventor(s) and from the Patent filings. Judge the natures of the invention, potential users in the industry and whether there is need for the invention to be further developed for industrial use.

Find out likely Partners/Sponsors/Buyers of the Invention and Identify the targets to be approached. Market the Patent amongst the target users with the help pf Inventor(s) and the Institution. Negotiate and enter into agreement with the identified and willing partners/users.

If further research/and fine-tuning is required- to find out support/sponsor and take further actions. Work out specific agreements fort collaboration with potential partner. Any other steps/actions considered necessary for furthering commercial use.5.

The incumbents are also expected to evolve their own processes for keeping in mind the objective of the department.
