3+ years of relevant indirect tax experience (EMEA Region Preferred)

Experience in Big 4 (Indirect Tax domain) / Tax CoE Setup or fast-paced industry (indirect tax teams preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in finance, accounting, tax, or related field. Or Any Indirect tax related certifications

• Core experience with
  EMEA
  VAT
• Working knowledge of Avalara, Vertex, GVRT, is preferred
• Robust knowledge of MS Excel and/or logic-based tools (advanced Excel models, Tableau/Alteryx).
• Ability to analyse large data volumes to identify key insights.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven with a critical and positive 'can-do' attitude.
• Comfortable collaborating with various subject matter experts.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision

Job Purpose: Individual contributor who can drive Sales & use tax/GST/VAT compliance and reporting function combining tax knowledge with necessary automation, to streamline global indirect tax compliances

Note – Client operates on a 5-day work from office model and candidate will need to adhere to this policy.

We are looking to add a skilled tax associate within the Indirect Tax CoE (Centre of Excellence) based in Bangalore, India. This role is responsible for managing sales and use tax (USA), EMEA/APAC VAT compliance processes, leveraging technology platforms such as Vertex/Avalara to ensure accurate filings, data integrity, and payment workflows. The Associate will bring deep multi-jurisdictional tax knowledge, audit compliance expertise, and a proactive approach to process improvement and automation.

The indirect tax CoE will be responsible for the periodical indirect tax compliance for Global regions. This team will be responsible to extract and interpret the tax data from our systems to enable informed business decisions, perform return filing and reconciling with the books of accounts on the Tax positions. Our focus is on improving our tax processes by using technology, which increases our responsibility for monitoring the completeness and accuracy in our indirect tax systems, striving for full tax automation, and driving the vision for improved and efficient tax compliance.

Our Client team consists of a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds across consulting, tax, accounting, and analytics. You will need to have strong project management skills as you'll drive cross-border projects (APAC,
EMEA
, USA) and develop best practice in processes on a Global level. You'll be a strong team player who is able to work with people across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Extract and validate information for filing SUT/GST/VAT returns,
• Analyse and validate compliance data, flagging issues and collaborating with teams to resolve them efficiently.
• Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding compliance-related matters.
• Ensure adherence to indirect tax processes and update procedures as needed to reflect evolving business requirements.
• Identify and implement opportunities for improving indirect tax compliance/reporting processes.
• Prepare and review month-end reconciliations and journal entries, maintaining comprehensive audit documentation.
• Leverage technology to streamline and automate tax calculations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required by the indirect tax team.
