Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Design Manager to lead and support the design & development of process equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical engineering expertise, hands-on design experience, and leadership skills to manage projects, ensure design accuracy, and drive innovation within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of process equipment and pressure vessels as per ASME, TEMA, and other applicable standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of design engineers, providing technical guidance and reviewing designs/drawings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, purchase, and project management to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and review design calculations, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards, safety norms, and customer specifications.
  • Interact with clients/vendors for design approvals, technical clarifications, and design optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes, cost optimization, and product development.
  • Support innovation and R&D initiatives for new product development.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, skids, and process equipment design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Inventor) and engineering design tools.
  • Sound understanding of ASME, TEMA, IS, and related standards.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
