  1. Understanding Client Requirements

    • Analyze RFQs, RFPs, tender documents, and client specifications.

    • Review site-specific data, including water/wastewater quality reports and treatment objectives.

    • Conduct technical discussions with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to clarify and confirm project requirements.

  2. Process Design & Technical Proposal Preparation

    • Perform preliminary process design, including flow diagrams, process selection, and sizing of treatment units.

    • Select appropriate treatment technologies (e.g., Clarification, Filtration, MBBR, SBR, MBR, RO, UF).

    • Develop and prepare:

      • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

      • Hydraulic flow schemes

      • Design calculations

      • Equipment specifications

      • Layout and concept drawings (in coordination with the CAD team)

  3. Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation

    • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Material Take-Offs (MTO).

    • Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and internal inventory teams for accurate cost inputs.

    • Calculate capital expenditure (CAPEX) and, when required, operational expenditure (OPEX) for lifecycle cost assessments.

  4. Commercial Proposal Development

    • Compile comprehensive proposals including:

      • Technical offer

      • Commercial offer

      • Compliance statements

      • Detailed price breakdowns

      • Project timelines and milestone charts

    • Ensure proposals align with company margin targets, client budgets, and competitive positioning.

  5. Internal Coordination

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including:

      • Process Design

      • Procurement and Costing

      • CAD/Drafting

      • Sales and Marketing

    • Ensure all proposal elements are accurate, integrated, and submitted within the required timelines.

  6. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

    • Engage with vendors to obtain quotations for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation components.

    • Evaluate technical and commercial aspects of vendor offers for incorporation into the proposal.

  7. Client Interaction & Clarifications

    • Attend pre-bid and technical meetings with clients and consultants.

    • Address and respond to client queries and clarifications during the proposal evaluation phase.

    • Assist the sales team in technical discussions and negotiations.

  8. Documentation & Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to statutory, environmental, and industry standards (e.g., CPCB, BIS, ISO).

    • Maintain comprehensive records including proposal databases, bid tracking sheets, and costing archives for future reference.

  9. Continuous Improvement

    • Participate in internal proposal review sessions and post-bid debriefs.

    • Analyze unsuccessful bids to identify pricing, technical, or strategic gaps, and recommend improvements for future submissions.
