Role Summary
The Inside Sales cum Proposal Engineer will play a dual role in supporting the business development cycle – from identifying and nurturing leads to preparing accurate techno-commercial proposals. This role requires strong technical understanding of digital technology solutions (Industrial Automation, IoT, Data Analytics, Cloud Solutions, Digital Transformation, etc.) combined with sales acumen to drive customer engagement and conversions.
Key Responsibilities
Inside Sales:
- Identify, qualify, and generate new business opportunities through inbound/outbound channels.
- Engage with potential customers via calls, emails, online demos, and virtual meetings.
- Maintain and update CRM with leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Coordinate with field sales and technical teams for seamless opportunity handover.
- Build relationships with existing customers for repeat and cross-selling opportunities.
Proposal Engineering:
- Study client requirements, RFQs, and technical specifications.
- Work with technical and solution architect teams to design tailored solutions.
- Prepare and submit accurate techno-commercial proposals, quotations, and compliance documents.
- Ensure proposals are cost-competitive, aligned with customer needs, and submitted within timelines.
- Follow up on submitted proposals, clarify technical queries, and support negotiations.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with product, delivery, and engineering teams to ensure proposals are executable.
- Provide inputs to marketing on customer pain points, industry trends, and competitor activities.
- Generate MIS reports on leads, proposals, order conversion ratios, and sales funnel status.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or related).
- 2–5 years of experience in inside sales, pre-sales, or proposal engineering (preferably in digital/automation/IT solutions).
- Strong understanding of
Digital Technology Solutions
(Industrial IoT, Cloud, AI/ML applications, Digital Transformation platforms). - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into business-friendly proposals.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools (Zoho, Salesforce, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
