Job Summary:

The Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing and executing the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. The role ensures timely sourcing, vendor negotiation, purchase order (PO) management, and cost control in alignment with project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors/suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery parameters.
  • Prepare and process purchase requests, RFQs, and purchase orders as per company policies.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure procurement accuracy.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with project, design, and accounts teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Maintain and update vendor database and performance records.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely material supply to project sites.
  • Prepare cost comparison sheets and assist in procurement planning and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory regulations.
  • Support value engineering initiatives by sourcing alternative materials and suppliers.
  • Handle claims, warranty issues, and resolve vendor disputes.
  • Report procurement status, savings, and vendor performance to management periodically.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of procurement experience in construction / infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of material specifications, vendor markets, and contract terms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally, etc.).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in vendor development and long-term sourcing strategy.
  • Exposure to BOCW and project procurement processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive work approach.
