Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data scraping scripts and tools to extract data from specified websites and online platforms.
  • Ensure the quality and reliability of scraped data through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Collaborate with the data team to understand data needs, refine scraping criteria, and enhance data collection strategies.
  • Maintain and update existing scraping scripts to adapt to changes in website structures and data formats.
  • Document scraping processes, including data sources, script functionalities, and any encountered challenges, for future reference and team knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in integrating scraped data into our existing databases and workflows, ensuring compatibility and accessibility.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data scraping, web crawling, and related fields.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with APIs.
  • Familiarity with database management and SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data cleaning and preprocessing.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and ethical scraping practices.
  • Prior internship or project experience in data scraping or related fields.
