Role of Partner ledger support Services

Assistant Manager will play a critical role in maintaining and strengthening the firm's risk management culture by leading key compliance and operational initiatives. This position oversees three vital processes: Personal Independence Testing, Business Relationship and DESC Operations (Deloitte Entity Search and Compliance). The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in managing complex compliance requirements, process optimization, and stakeholder engagement across multiple business units.

1. Personal Independence Testing

  • Lead and execute the firm's Personal Independence Testing Program, including employee/partner selection, communication, and audits.
  • Oversee compliance with investment restrictions and disclosure requirements using the Global Independence Management System (GIMS).
  • Manage independence lifecycle processes (onboarding, transitions, retirements) for staff at all levels.
  • Drive timely completion of annual/mid-cycle confirmations, mandatory training, and e-learning programs.
  • Provide expert support and clarity on GIMS disclosures (superannuation, equities, trusts, etc.).
  • Liaise with global compliance teams to ensure alignment with the firm's independence policies.

2. Business Relationship

  • Guide and conduct independence reviews for alliances, subcontractors, consultants, and joint ventures.
  • Perform foreign ownership assessments and conflict checks utilizing the Deloitte Conflict Checking System (DCCS).
  • Monitor, review, and mitigate risks associated with Microsoft-specific and technology investment independence requirements (e.g., Deloitte Ventures).
  • Support and oversee annual compliance and renewal processes for active business relationships.

3. DESC Operations (Deloitte Entity Search and Compliance)

  • Supervise DESC system operations, maintaining data accuracy for global client and vendor entities.
  • Facilitate service requests and entity pre-approvals via the Service Request Management (SRM) tool.
  • Collaborate with Lead Audit Partners and client teams to manage entity changes in DESC.
  • Conduct due diligence and entity validation in support of engagement acceptance and audit quality procedures.
Work you will do
  • Leading end-to-end Personal Independence Testing: Overseeing audits, managing employee and partner communications, and administering the annual and mid-cycle confirmation processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Managing the Global Independence Management System (GIMS): Validating disclosures, resolving queries related to complex investments such as superannuation, equities, and trusts, and providing expert support to employees at all levels.
  • Guiding business relationship compliance reviews: Performing risk assessments on alliances, subcontractors, consultants, joint ventures, and evaluating foreign ownership and conflict checks via DCCS.
  • Monitoring independence requirements for key technology investments: Assessing Microsoft-specific risks and supporting firm initiatives like Deloitte Ventures.
  • Supervising the DESC Operations team: Maintaining up-to-date and accurate client and vendor data, facilitating entity change requests, and collaborating with audit partners and client teams.
  • Ensuring service excellence in compliance processes: Overseeing efficient operations of the Service Request Management (SRM) tool, coordinating timely service fulfillment, and supporting annual compliance cycles.
  • Partnering with global compliance and business leaders: Ensuring alignment with firm-wide standards, sharing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across all compliance functions.
  • Conducting due diligence and validating entities: Supporting engagement acceptance and audit quality control procedures by ensuring legal, regulatory, and operational compliance.
  • Actively participate in all recurring weekly calls with leadership in Australia and provide quality inputs, which enables them to take business decisions.
  • Attend training sessions for technical and personal development as necessary.
  • Ensure that all the process related documents are referenced for process awareness and updates.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to senior stakeholders and team members. Regular calls with various stakeholders, maintaining a client-centric focus
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including data validation, logical functions, and the ability to analyze large datasets and design new reports.
  • Strong client-centric approach with the ability to understand and meet the expectations of AU stakeholders consistently. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • The individual should be able to do the multi-tasking and must demonstrate the strong ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
  • Adaptability and Resilience, ability to adapt to changing work environments, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines. Comfortable working long hours during peak periods, such as month-ends, to meet business demands.

There are 6 distinct CoEs empowering various capabilities—including Reporting & Analytics, Finance, Quality & Risk, IT Services, Marketing, and Talent—ensuring seamless operations and strategic advancement.

Within the Quality & Risk (Q&R) CoE, dedicated sub-teams deliver targeted services such as reporting analytics, Partner Dashboard support, comprehensive due diligence for engagements and clients, conflict management, Personal Independence & Risk Solutions at green dot level.

Qualifications
Required
  • Postgraduate/Graduate (B. Com, BA, BBA) with Financial Background and strong analytical skills
  • 7-10 years of experience is preferred.
Preferred
  • Excel skills and strong computer skills with accuracy attention to Detail
  • Leadership and Team management skills with strategic thinking and problem-solving proficiencies. Need to be proactive, client centric, adaptable and resilient. Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
