Job Summary

A VFX Artist is responsible for creating high-quality visual effects for films, TV, advertising, animation, gaming, and digital media. The role involves shot cleanup, compositing, CGI integration, motion graphics, and ensuring seamless visual output that matches the creative vision. The artist works closely with directors, editors, animators, and 3D teams to deliver polished and realistic visuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create realistic visual effects, such as explosions, smoke, fire, particles, and simulations.
  • Perform compositing tasks including keying, rotoscope, tracking, color correction, and cleanup.
  • Integrate 3D elements with live-action footage using lighting, shadows, and camera tracking.
  • Collaborate with 3D artists, editors, animators, and creative directors to achieve the desired look.
  • Follow project briefs and maintain quality throughout the pipeline.
  • Deliver shots on time while maintaining high visual standards.
  • Work with various VFX software and maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Troubleshoot technical and creative challenges in shots.
  • Ensure consistency and continuity across multiple shots or sequences.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in VFX compositing or shot work.
  • Strong knowledge of industry tools (e.g., After Effects, Nuke, Blender, Maya, Houdini, Fusion).
  • Good understanding of lighting, color, and real-world physics.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple shots.
  • Strong eye for detail, creativity, and visual composition.
  • Basic understanding of filmmaking and camera principles.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in 3D modeling, animation, or simulation.
  • Knowledge of tracking software
  • Ability to work in team-based or remote production environments.
