We're looking for a
Food Technologist with Nutritionist experience
— someone who blends scientific precision with human intuition.

You'll work closely with farmers, product designers, and storytellers to ensure every blend we create is as nourishing as it is authentic.

Role Overview

This role sits at the intersection of
food science, nutrition, and sustainability.

You will develop, test, and refine product formulations — from spices and masalas to teas, coffees, and wellness mixes — ensuring that each product retains its natural nutrients and meets Chithriya's standards of purity, safety, and storytelling.

You'll also collaborate with the branding team to create packaging and nutritional content that is both
scientifically accurate
and
emotionally engaging.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Formulation & Nutrition

  • Develop and standardize new recipes and blends while preserving natural nutrient integrity.
  • Conduct nutritional profiling and label creation for all products (macronutrients, micronutrients, and functional properties).
  • Recommend ingredient combinations that enhance wellness benefits (e.g., anti-inflammatory, digestive, antioxidant).
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to create functional blends (immunity, detox, energy, sleep support, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI's nutrition and health claim regulations.

Quality, Safety & Testing

  • Oversee ingredient sourcing, processing, and packaging to maintain nutritional value.
  • Conduct sensory, microbial, and stability testing to ensure safety and shelf-life.
  • Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain HACCP documentation.
  • Work with labs to verify curcumin levels, caffeine content, moisture, and nutrient retention.

Packaging, Labeling & Content

  • Draft and review
    nutrition panels, ingredient lists, and functional claims
    for all SKUs.
  • Collaborate with the design team to write short packaging content —
    crafted notes, origin facts, and usage tips.
  • Ensure factual accuracy in storytelling and claims ("source of antioxidants", "naturally caffeine-free", etc.).
  • Validate packaging compatibility with product composition and shelf-life.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination

  • Identify and liaise with ingredient suppliers, labs, and packaging vendors.
  • Review COAs (Certificates of Analysis) and nutritional reports from vendors.
  • Conduct audits to ensure material quality and ethical sourcing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
  • Added advantage:
    PG Diploma / M.Sc in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food & Nutrition.
  • 0–6 years of experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or wellness product formulation.
  • Strong knowledge of
    FSSAI
    ,
    nutrition labeling
    , and
    functional food regulations.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills — for both technical reports and consumer-facing content.
  • Passion for clean-label food, natural nutrition, and sustainable living.
