Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Engineer II to lead and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, and the ability to independently handle design responsibilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Create layout drawings and models for production lines consisting of several sub-systems to meet client requirements.
  • Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and production documentation using CAD tools.
  • Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and ensure manufacturability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design quality, reliability, and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members and support project execution.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate feasibility, quality, and timelines of outsourced parts.

Analysis & Validation:

  • Conduct design reviews, perform root-cause analysis, and propose corrective actions.
  • Support prototype development, testing, evaluation, and performance verification.
  • Utilize analytical methods (FEA/CFD is a plus) to validate and optimize designs.

Documentation & Process:

  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, test reports, and revision histories.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, GD&T practices, and company design processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (M. Tech. in design/CAD-CAM preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in designing industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (3D modelling, 2D drafting) and strong knowledge of GD&T.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and materials.
  • Experience generating manufacturable, high-quality engineering drawings.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead tasks within a team environment.
  • Experience interacting with vendors, suppliers, and shop-floor teams.
  • Knowledge of CFD or FEA tools is an added advantage.

Role Type and Location

This is an on-site, full-time role in Hyderabad, Telangana.
