SCM Deputy Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic planning: Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans to support machining and manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Procurement and vendor management:
  • Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, tools, and machining parts.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, including those specializing in machining services, to secure favorable terms on quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance based on KPIs and resolve any quality or delivery issues.
  • Inventory control:
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Implement and manage systems like Kanban to ensure the continuous availability of critical machining parts.
  • Logistics and distribution:
  • Organize and monitor the transportation and storage of raw materials and finished products.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents (CHA), and transportation companies for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and engineering departments to ensure materials and processes meet technical specifications like Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Process improvement:
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies, especially regarding export-import (EXIM) procedures for India.
  • Team leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of supply chain professionals.
