Job Summary

As a Manager/Senior Manager - SCM Systems Development, you will be responsible for driving digital transformation and process optimization within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function. This role requires a deep understanding of SCM workflows, advanced technical expertise in developing automation solutions, and the ability to manage end-to-end system development initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, design innovative software-based solutions, and implement tools that enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and provide actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Automation and Workflow Optimization

  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and automate work processes using Python, Graph API, and other technologies.

  3. Develop and deploy scripts, applications, and workflows to automate repetitive tasks and improve overall system efficiency.
  4. Design and maintain AppSheet-based solutions to support business workflows and ensure seamless data management.
  5. Create scalable Python-based tools for complex calculations, such as SCM spend analysis using intricate rate cards.
  6. Explore and evaluate in-house or external software solutions to manage data and automate workflows effectively.

  7. Software Development and Integration

  8. Lead the development of customized software solutions (e.g., Python scripts, AppSheet, AppScript) to address specific SCM challenges and enhance user interfaces.

  9. Manage end-to-end development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  10. Collaborate with IT and vendor teams to implement third-party software as required.

  11. Data Analysis and Decision Support

  12. Analyze large datasets related to supply chain processes and generate actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

  13. Build dynamic dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau) to track key performance indicators (KPIs).

  14. Process Improvement and Gap Analysis

  15. Identify inefficiencies and process gaps within SCM workflows and address them using software-driven solutions.

  16. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system usage and ensure compliance with best practices.
  17. Continuously monitor and improve the performance of automation tools to align with evolving business needs.

  18. Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  19. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for SCM systems development and automation technologies.

  20. Provide training and technical support to team members and stakeholders on the usage of new tools and systems.
  21. Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment of SCM systems with overall business goals.
  22. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in supply chain automation and recommend innovative solutions.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Python, Graph API, AppSheet, AppScript, and other automation tools.

Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Strong understanding of SCM processes and workflows.

Familiarity with ERP systems and third-party software integration.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and develop insights.

Expertise in identifying and addressing process gaps using software solutions.

  • Project Management:

Experience in managing multiple automation and system development projects simultaneously.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Communication and Leadership:

Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor team members in adopting new technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:

8+ years of experience in Systems development, process automation, or a similar role.

Proven track record of implementing automation tools and enhancing operational efficiency.

  • Reduction in manual effort through automation (% improvement).
  • Accuracy and timeliness of SCM spend analysis and reporting.
  • Adoption rate of new tools and systems by stakeholders.
  • Number of process gaps identified and resolved through software solutions.
