Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Blasting Operator to carry out surface preparation of tanks, vessels, pipelines, and other water industry equipment using sand/shot blasting techniques. The role requires precision, safety awareness, and adherence to quality standards for effective surface treatment before painting, coating, or fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sand/shot blasting operations on tanks, vessels, pipes, and equipment used in water treatment plants.
  • Prepare surfaces by removing rust, scale, grease, old paint, and contaminants.
  • Set up and operate blasting machines, nozzles, hoses, and compressors.
  • Ensure uniform surface roughness and adherence to specified standards (SA 2.5, etc.).
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.
  • Maintain blasting equipment, hoses, and safety gear in proper working condition.
  • Follow safety procedures, including the use of PPE and hazard control measures.
  • Coordinate with coating/painting teams for next-stage operations.
  • Maintain logs of blasting activities and report equipment issues to supervisors.
