Job Purpose

To assist in managing the end-to-end diamond supply chain process — from procurement coordination to allocation and dispatch — ensuring timely and accurate availability of diamonds for production. The role involves maintaining effective coordination between internal teams, monitoring inventory levels, supporting planning activities, and ensuring smooth material flow in line with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Coordination
  • Support in preparing and executing daily and weekly diamond requirement plans as per production schedules.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing, assortment, production, and planning teams for timely allocation and issue of diamonds.
  • Ensure smooth material flow between departments with proper documentation and traceability.
  • Follow up on pending requirements and ensure timely closure of internal requests.
    1. Inventory Management
  • Maintain and update diamond stock records in ERP with high accuracy.
  • Track diamond inward and outward movement across all processes.
  • Assist in physical verification and reconciliation of diamond stock.
  • Monitor consumption trends and highlight discrepancies or variances to the Manager.
    1. Process & Data Management
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the system for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Prepare and circulate daily/weekly MIS reports on diamond movement, stock position, and allocations.
  • Support in process improvements for efficiency and control within the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, security, and documentation requirements.
    1. Coordination with Internal & External Teams
  • Work closely with the diamond procurement, assortment, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment on supply priorities.
  • Liaise with external vendors, if required, for follow-ups on deliveries or returns.
  • Support cross-functional teams in planning and forecasting activities.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Sound understanding of diamond assortments, classifications, and valuations.
  • Good knowledge of supply chain processes within the jewellery industry.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Navision or SAP).
  • Excellent data management, analytical, and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
  • 2–5 years of experience in diamond inventory or supply chain operations in the gems & jewellery industry.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/export unit (EOU/SEEPZ) preferred.
