Role description
Job Title: SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Expert
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP MDG solutions for master data objects (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, Business Partner, etc.).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define master data governance strategies, policies, and workflows.
  • Manage data modeling, replication, consolidation, and harmonization within SAP MDG.
  • Integrate SAP MDG with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and non-SAP applications.
  • Develop and optimize data quality rules, validations, and business rules frameworks.
  • Provide expertise in UI configurations (Fiori, Web Dynpro), BRF+ rules, and workflow design.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards, GDPR, and audit requirements.
  • Lead unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and cutover activities.
  • Deliver end-user training, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Work closely with IT, business teams, and data stewards to drive continuous improvement in data management.
  • Lead a specific workstream, reviewing and guiding the work of junior team members.
  • Coordinate activities across workstreams, identifying and managing scope changes.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, along with punctuality, organization, and a methodical work style.
Qualifications & Skill
  • 5–8+ years of overall SAP experience, including 3–5 years in SAP MDG implementation and support.
  • Hands-on experience in 2–3 end-to-end SAP MDG implementation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of master data domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, Business Partner).
  • Expertise in MDG configuration, workflow, BRF+, Fiori/UI5, and data modeling.
  • Experience with data migration, cleansing, and data quality management tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP PI/PO, SAP Data Services, and related integration scenarios.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with ITSM processes in large, global business environments.
  • SAP MDG certification is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and MDG on BTP.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools beyond SAP.
