Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of our data platform. The engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions, as well as reviewing system requirements and tracking quality assurance metrics.

A key aspect of this role involves conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly, meets client needs, and remains cost-effective. Our ideal candidate will possess a background in both software development and quality assurance, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

UST is looking for a skilled and proactive QA Automation Engineer to strengthen our quality engineering practice and contribute to product reliability and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a hands-on role in improving test automation, quality standards, and delivery speed.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to provide meaningful feedback.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs through resolution.
• Perform thorough regression testing after bug fixes or enhancements.
• Collaborate with product, development, and DevOps teams to ensure consistent quality.
• Monitor debugging results and suggest improvements.
• Analyze root causes of issues and contribute to preventive actions.
• Track quality assurance metrics (e.g., defect density, open defect counts).
• Stay updated on new tools and strategies for test automation and quality improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• Experience testing front-end applications, REST APIs, and infrastructure components.
• Proficient in programming/scripting: Python, JavaScript,
• Solid experience in front-end frameworks: React, Angular.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-based testing strategies.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium).
• Knowledge of test frameworks like PyTest.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Experience with Linux and relevant CLI tools (e.g., curl, netcat).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
• Understanding of secure protocols (TLS, OpenSSL) and web architecture.
• Exposure to performance and security testing, including tools such as Kali or Blackbox.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
